Jennifer Donovan

Kingston Native and lover of all things local, Jennifer Donovan was a graduate of SUNY New Paltz studying Public Relations and Business. All the while, she was working as a hair stylist and salon coordinator for the infamously known hair stylist to the rock and roll world, Mark Ferraro. While working with Mark Ferraro, Jennifer was able to work first hand with the great creatives that migrated to Woodstock and the Catskill region. These influences took great part in Jennifer taking the steps to continue on her journey working with stylists, and the passionate art and creativity that it involves. After college, Jennifer continued to work on large scale productions as a designer and the Head of the Hair and Makeup Department at the Fisher Center at Bard College. She was also a hair and makeup artist for on and off Broadway productions and continues works with American Ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House. With several years of theatre, film, daily styling experiences, and endless connections in the industry, Jennifer continues to train and hire staffing to provide expertise skill sets to local productions, businesses, and stylists. Jennifer also stays busy in the music world with commercials, album covers, documentaries, and films that have all left her with IMDB credits. In addition, she works doing Red Carpet preparation for A list private clientele in NYC & holds a space in doing cuts & color for her loyal following there in addition to her Kingston location.  Jennifer is now helping other women open their dream projects as a consultant, and silent partner, as well as assisting with getting local film projects off the ground. Jennifer continues to stay well connected in the industry, linking the world beyond NYC to a more "casual" living in the Hudson Valley for many of her NYC colleagues. Jennifer believes that “Your investment to giving people a better outlook on your future as a stylist is by using the devotion of time, energy, and connections from previous worlds towards a more local business, and for the people within that community. Just because you leave NYC does not mean it's over." The intention of these theories is to utilize all of the connections, education, and experiences artists like Jennifer have put into the "grind”, and place them into the hands of Le Shag staff to provide them with a invaluable career that supports both student and instructor.
